Bloom

Bloom

This bloom and behold I, a Mirror
I too, from Seed
I too, from the glory of Creation
I too, from time born to Beauty

I too, petals of Being
I too, die and live Anew
This bloom and behold I, a Mirror.

A Handy Thing... as told to my grandson...

A Handy Thing
It is such a handy thing
It holds and wears my ring

It claps, waves and greets a friend
A paper airplane off it will send

A fist to show how mighty strong
And fingers to lead me in a song

With pencil or pen it does write
With brush and paint bring colors bright

Nothing is as kind as its gentle touch
Hands to say I love you very much.

How Does...

How does a poet, an artist, process the news that speaks to corruption, deception, maligning controls and abusive encounters? It hears the plea of TRUTH beyond the lies, it sees the HUMANITY beyond the exploitation, it lives the knowing, the FAITH,  the VISION,  beyond the oppression. It feels the QUAKE and STORM that ever calls to the LIGHT, it lives THE WORD anew.

...with word in heart.....with palette in hand...

Quake and Storm

the line be it beauty perceived
the light be it TRUTH revealed
the shadow be it time cast
the color be it passion known
the stirring, the quest, the resolve
quake and storm
'tis the artist's way.

In the Quietude of the Day's Dawning...

In the Quietude of the Day's Dawning...

Embraced by the stillness, held by the silence
Within the stillness the breath be heard
Within the silence be THE WORD
The SELF in stillness, revelations be known

The SELF in silence, THE WAY be shown.

Memorial Day Tribute ~ Perseverance

In Tribute to all our Veterans...

Perseverance

Memories of valor that touch our heart and soul
A place within our Presence the celebration of the goal
To reach our purpose with mind and plan
The birth of vision held by all of man
To hold resolve and endure all claim
To fire the passion beyond the pain
This assertion in what we do
With God's blessing brought to you
Relentless is the path the way
The spirit of perseverance calls this day
In honor of those who soar the heavens above
Our hearts open to God's eternal love.

Memorial Day Presentation, 2013 ~ Blauvelt New York, Lion's Event.

Memorial Day, 2013 ~ A Presentation by Rose Marie Raccioppi

Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain joined the ranks of the Union Army, during the American Civil War He became a highly respected and decorated Union officer, reaching the rank of brigadier general (and brevet major general). For his gallantry at Gettysburg, he was awarded the Medal of Honor. Certainly he lived the loss, the pain and the glory of the battlefield. And so his words:

"Heroism is latent in every human soul - However humble or unknown, they (the veterans) have renounced what are accounted pleasures and cheerfully undertaken all the self-denials - privations, toils, dangers, sufferings, sicknesses, mutilations, life-long hurts and losses, death itself - for some great good, dimly seen but dearly held."  Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain, 1828 – 1914

To Honor Those Who Lived A Cause

Flowers and flags in devoted array
A loving tribute this Memorial Day
To honor those who lived a cause
This moment, this day, and so a pause
Hearts and souls in valor known
Right intention and devotion shown
Battlefields of victory and plight
Through all beheld freedom's light
Answered they did to liberty's plea
That freedom be held for a you, a me
Sons and daughters, husbands and wives
Children of purpose have given their lives
The breath of freedom an endowment divine
Bequeathed to life yours, life mine
With valor and sacrifice life they gave
And embraced the call yet to be brave
In memorial and reverence gather we
For held be the right that we live free
Memory of each life gone never to fade
Live we life's blessings for sacrifice made.

And they who for country and freedom in battle perish
We to weep and in loving memory with gratitude cherish
For each life that was lives in God's embrace sublime
Ever blessed be their souls in soaring grace divine.

This in homage to all who served and serve in faith ever new.

...these eyes...

What be these eyes but the light as perceived
What be these eyes but the seen as believed
What be these eyes but a window to the soul
What be these eyes but the morning sun of gold
What be these eyes but the silver stars of night
What be these eyes but the seeking of light
What be these eyes but time present and past
What be these eyes but visions distant and vast
What be these eyes but blinded of sight
What be these eyes but deep inner light
For never be the eyes blinded to GOD supreme
For within depths of darkness divine light ever seen.

TIGER TIGER

TIGER ~ TIGER...

And so I of EARTH TIGER Birth

live my days in fulfillment of the calling of the stars
in gratitude for my moment of birth here and afar
in celebration of days gifted, known and yet to come
in awe of the wondrous for thy will, thy will be done.

Rose Marie Raccioppi

"People who are born under the sign of the Tiger in the Chinese Zodiac are intense and magnetic individuals. No one says "no" to a Tiger, and if they do, the Tiger simply does not listen. Tigers are full of confidence and power, and when a Tiger sets his or her sights on a goal, that goal will be achieved, no matter how impossible it seems. In fact, the more people try to block a Tiger's way, the harder he or she will work, because Tigers have a rebellious, competitive streak, and like nothing more than proving their detractors wrong.

Tigers are passionate, and everyone who sees a Tiger can tell that their civility masks powerful emotions. Tigers feel strongly for others, and hate to see another person being picked on or put down. A Tiger will stick up for someone else and fight against bullies with all the power he or she possesses, and that is a considerable amount of power!

In a relationship, a Tiger can be a little difficult. Tigers are passionate in the bedroom and very hardworking and loyal, but Tigers can be afflicted by self-doubt and mood swings. During these times, a Tiger needs one hundred percent support. A Tiger never wants to hear that he or she is wrong, and will not admit it. If a Tiger hurts your feelings, he or she will apologize with actions instead of words.

Tigers are natural candidates for leadership positions, and often find themselves in charge even if they did not volunteer for or want the position. Tigers hate to let people down and will work hard to inspire others and achieve change for the better.

When a Tiger is affected by the Element of Earth, the Chinese Zodiac says that he or she will be better able to focus without interruptions caused by his or her fiery temperament. These practical Tigers are much better at controlling their emotions. Although Earth Tigers still have a strong sense of right and wrong and will never hesitate to fight for what is right, they approach conflict in a more careful and controlled way. Because of this, Earth Tigers are far less likely to say something they will regret later in the heat of the moment.

An Earth Tiger is a powerful ally. Not only do they have strength, stamina, and no hesitation when it comes to standing up for their friends, but they are able to calmly assess a situation and bring all of the power of their intellect to bear. Earth Tigers are easier mates to deal with because they are more likely to consider consequences before acting.
An Earth Tiger will be better with practical matters, like finances, than other Tigers are. Since Earth Tigers do not get nearly as caught up in mood swings, they are less likely to throw away their savings on their latest project, or go on a shopping spree to improve a depressed mood.

These Tigers are still wonderfully passionate and romantic, and you will never be bored in a relationship with an Earth Tiger."  Source: http://www.gotohoroscope.com/chinese-year/earth-tiger.html

The Tyger
BY WILLIAM BLAKE

Tyger Tyger, burning bright,
In the forests of the night;
What immortal hand or eye,
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies.
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand, dare seize the fire?

And what shoulder, & what art,
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand? & what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain,
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp,
Dare its deadly terrors clasp!

When the stars threw down their spears
And water'd heaven with their tears:
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?

Tyger Tyger burning bright,
In the forests of the night:
What immortal hand or eye,
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

Indigo Whispers

Indigo Whispers

jeweled be this night of thought
indigo whispers to my heart be brought
loss calls as plea and pain
light ever the journey beyond the inane
a vision of beauty and truth to prevail
depth of breath to silence the beckoning travail
the night to bring the day dawning new
known be the grace of light's blessings upon you.

THOTH ~ HATHOR

THOTH ~ HATHOR

Ah, YES, I ASK... can I understand this soaring exuberance
Can I know this meaning of connection to a distant past
Can I embrace this moment as all time present
Can I BE this expression of ancient days long gone
Can I be a present day personification of an Egyptian Deity
An inner sounding echoes THOTH
An inner questing honors HATHOR
Expressions I make known of word
Strokes I make known as color and form
Healing I make known as vibration
Love I make known as BEING
Ah, YES, I ASK... can I understand this soaring exuberance
Can I know this meaning of connection to a distant past.

...and if this be FATE...
what Freedom am I to unfold
         what Aspiration from time untold
what Treasure of self to reveal
                  what Eternal calling beyond conceal...

Blue... a chair...

Blue... a chair...

Colors in splendor for all to see
The setting sun casts its light upon me
In solitude here upon mighty rocks divine
I, Blue, embraced by this moment sublime
Wondrous be this glory of sun's parting way
Here I, in the Presence of this hour, this day.

A Sunday in Tribute ~ And How A Mother Shows Her Care

As Mothers, often we are beset with challenges and need to make decisions that are not always easily discernible. Our sons and daughters may present a need for us to expand our perceptions and be more inclusive of what we may not have considered in days past. And so these heartfelt words shared...

A Sunday in Tribute ~ And How A Mother Shows Her Care

And how a mother shows her care
She sees the loss, the pain but does not despair
With faith and the vision of her child set free
She revels in joy for all that be
Acceptance, gratitude, forgiveness to discern
Life’s lessons not always easily learned
With wisdom and knowing deep within her heart
Doubt, fear and sadness readily depart
A new path so shall she lay
For this and the awakening day.

Happy Mother's Day to All

To You Her Hand Dear Gina ~ A Mother's Day Blessing

A Mother's Day Blessing
To You Her Hand

A gift this day from Creation received
From love and longing be it conceived
A Mother held within God's loving grace
And onto you a rainbow within heart to place
She in colors of splendor and love
To you her hand from the heaven's above.

Ascension

Ascension

demanding be the many tasks at hand
a perception, a plan, action in command
intention and focus be the call of the day
the gift of time and a knowing provide the way
how sweet when vision is newly held clear
when the din of despair is silenced and gone the fear
how comforting is this moment's embrace
when within heart, love the soul does place
how knowing is an ascension's call
when resounding with the grace of ALL
and as I cast my sight to the lambent sky
feel I the beauty of the moving firmament on high
the lithe bamboo touched by the gentle winds that blow
breath, faith, 'tis all that I need now know
the day by Nature's plan does unfold
and I to be led by THE WORD ever told.

Threads Of Time...

Threads of Time...

we gave a cry and all rejoiced for this our birth complete
we are our first steps greeted with open arms
our first word that brought an admiring smile...

trace the years and their memories await anew
a montage, a kaleidoscope, of one's life view

sounds, impressions, of place time and moments sweet
where our dreams and our days come to meet
praise, punishment, joy and pain come to define
a life known as rightly yours, a life lived as mine
and what brings reason to pause this very day
but the wondrous Creation given by Life along its way
a sculpture unveiled and all in AWE and PRAISE
for what each has brought to their ennobled days
and then a painting, a poem, an endearing embrace
upon a time line of memories now they to place
decades of moons have brought mystery and delight
magical be this waxing and waning of Creation's light
and so this heart, this soul, in time's grasp and claim
be held in the spirit and glory of our Creator's name
be it of yesterdays or days yet, and dreams enfold
each new gaze, a breath, a sigh, be this our story told
with threads of time Life's cloak we weave
let it BE the warp and weft of Divinity conceived.

Albrecht Dürer, German,  21 May 1471 – 6 April 1528, Self-portrait silverpoint drawing by the thirteen-year-old Dürer, 1484, Albertina, Vienna.

"Albrecht Dürer (German: [ˈalbʁɛçt ˈdyːʁɐ]; 21 May 1471 – 6 April 1528) was a German painter,  engraver,  printmaker, mathematician, and theorist from Nuremberg. His high-quality woodcuts,  nowadays often called Meisterstiche or "master prints, " established his reputation and influence across Europe when he was still in his twenties,  and he has been conventionally regarded as the greatest artist of the Northern Renaissance ever since. " http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albrecht_Dürer
